Macy’s to Close 125 Stores as Chain Struggles Against Online Sales

USA – Macy’s has been moving backwards after announcing again this week it will close stores, corporate jobs, and headquarters around the US.

According to a press release from the company it will be closing 125 stores over the next three years. Its biggest competition is online sales.

Macy’s says its not only cutting 125 stores but over 2,000 corporate jobs and will close its headquarter offices in Cincinnati, Ohio and San Francisco.

“We plan to close our stores in lower-tier malls that are least productive and focus on location sight stronger sales and increase online operations,” said Macy’s

Three of the 125 are here in Ohio they are:

Cincinnati: Northgate Mall

St. Clairsville: Ohio Valley Mall

Stow: Stow-Kent Plaza
