Late Night Rollover Sends One to Hospital

CIRCLEVILLE – An accident occurred around 11:45 pm on October 31, 2018, at the intersection of Bolender-Pontius Rd and Route 188. According to Pickaway County Sheriff, a 21-year-old boy was heading West Bound in a 2005 Ford Escape on Route 188 and failed to maintain control of the vehicle while making a left turn onto Bolender-Pontius Rd.  Due to the wet condition, the read end slide during the turn and the truck ended up in a rollover situation on the right side of Bolender-Pontius and came to rest in a cornfield on its top.  During the accident, a guide wire was hit on a telephone pole, and the electric company had to be called to repair.

According to the 21-year-old driver he was coming home from work.  He works two jobs and goes to school at Columbus State.

The 21-year-old was transported to Berger Hospital with minor injuries only and was the sole occupant in the vehicle.  According to Pickaway County Sheriff, he was wearing his seatbelt or the accident could have possibly been much worse.


Clear Creek Fire/Ems and Pickaway County Sheriffs were on scene.
