Kayak Thief Caught by Local Law and is Sent “Up the River”

CIRCLEVILLE – A trooper from the Circleville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol made a traffic stop on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at approximately 5:48 p.m. based on information shared from the Circleville Police Department which lead to an apprehension of a suspect in a theft from Rural King.

On Sunday, June 24, 2018 at approximately 5:45 p.m. hours, the Circleville Police Department put out information that a theft of Kayaks had occurred at the Rural King store in Circleville and provided a detailed description which was relayed to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.  A Circleville Post trooper spotted the vehicle, and made a traffic stop on the vehicle which revealed that was the suspect involved in the theft.  Daniel C. Hashman, 30 of Columbus, was taken into custody without further incident.  The Circleville Police Department came to the scene and took over the investigation.
