May 4, 2020
Deputies responded to several calls regarding a person walking in traffic on U.S. 33. Deputies located the person and transported to HVCH for evaluation.—–



May 4, 2020
Deputies responded to a domestic violence aggravated menacing complaint at a SR 56 residence. The suspect had left prior to the deputy’s arrival. The case file was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for charges.—–

Deputies responded to a Middlefork Rd. residence for an unruly juvenile complaint. The case was forwarded to Children’s Services.—–
May 5, 2020
Deputies were dispatched to U.S. 33 and SR 595 for a disabled vehicle. After arriving deputies found the driver was intoxicated. Ryan D. Brown, 25, Columbus was charged with OVI Physical Control.—–
May 5, 2020
Detectives responded to HVCH after deputies working at the hospital summoned them for a gunshot wound. After investigation in was learned the gunshot was a self-inflicted accident that occurred in Vinton County. Also during the investigation, detectives learned the firearm was involved with a suicidal person. Deputies located the person and transported them for evaluation.—–

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Bowland-Derr Rd. Deputies learned the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Logan Police. Logan PD requested that we release the vehicle to the owner.—–

Deputies responded to a Coonville Rd. residence for a person under the influence of narcotics. Deputies arrested Jesse A. Russell, 34, New Plymouth for Obstructing Official Business and transported him to the SEORJ.—–

Deputies responded to a suicidal person at a residence. HCEMS transported to HVCH.—–
May 6, 2020
Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on Dupler Rd. at Stage Rd. The 17 year old driver lost control when turning and over turned the vehicle onto its top. The driver was cited for failure to control.—–
May 7, 2020
Detectives assisted the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office investigators in locating and arresting a person wanted for pandering obscenity involving a minor. After locating and arresting the person, other crimes were found. The case remains under investigation.—–
May 7, 2020
Deputies responded to a verbal domestic situation that involved the possible use of narcotics. No violence occurred and no charges were filed, but deputies provided the parties information about Project HOPE to get help with drug addiction. The case file was forwarded to Children’s Services as well.
