Hocking County Sheriff Lanny E. North reports:
February 21, 2020
Deputies responded to a SR 56 residence for a breaking and entering complaint. The victim told deputies that someone had cut the lock off of a garage and stole an ATV from inside. Deputies collected evidence and turned the case over to the detective bureau.—–
February 23, 2020
Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on Starr Route Rd. The driver lost control traveling off the left side of the roadway ending up in the culvert. No injuries were reported.-


February 24, 2020
Deputies went to a Wolfe Rd. residence for a civil standby and while there took a report for menacing.—–
February 26, 2020
The deputy assigned as the dog warden was called to assist Logan Police at a Spring St. residence. The deputy was told that there were two deceased dogs in the apartment. After an investigation the deputy believed that the dogs died from neglect and charges were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office.—–

A Murray City resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of disorderly conduct.—–

Deputies responded to a SR 180 residence for a suicidal juvenile. HCEMS arrived to assist and transported to the hospital.—–
February 29, 2020
Deputies responded to a Gore-Greendale Rd. residence for a found drugs complaint. The homeowner had found and notified law enforcement of a methamphetamine lab located in their barn a few years ago. Today, the homeowner while working in the barn found another bottle suspected to be part of the lab. Deputies collected the bottle to dispose of properly.—–

Deputies responded to a Pike St. Laurelville apartment for a disorderly conduct complaint that involved a few people arguing. No violence occurred and no charges were filed.—–

Deputies responded to a Thompson Ridge Rd. residence for a suicidal person. Deputies transported to the hospital.—–

Deputies responded to a Murray City residence where the resident reported to deputies that their significant other was making suicidal threats. The person had left the area prior to deputy’s arrival. Other local law enforcement agencies were notified about the incident and to look for the person.—–

Deputies responded to a Homer St. residence for a theft complaint. The victim told deputies that someone had removed some scaffolding from the rear yard.—–
February 29, 2020
Detectives are investigating a sex offense that was reported involving a minor. The case remains under investigation.—–
March 1, 2020
Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on SR 180 in which the driver told deputies that they swerved to miss a deer, went off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. There were no injuries reported.—–
March 1, 2020
Deputies responded to a mutual aid request at a Walnut St. residence for an assault complaint. While at the residence, deputies learned of another person at the residence who had suicidal ideation. Deputies transported to HVCH.
