March 11, 2020


Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Cody Sherrick, 25 of Logan. Sherrick gave permission for deputies to search his vehicle. Located was a glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue and approx. 7 grams of marijuana. Sherrick was issued citations for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana._____

A Haydenville resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of tools from his pickup which possibly occurred sometime in January._____
January 12, 2020
Deputies were dispatched to Murray City in which the caller stated she had located a small child walking in the middle of SR 78 with no shoes and dirty diapers. The child said she did not know where her house was. Deputies knocked on several doors of homes trying to located the mother of the child. The deputy then observed toys on a porch and open door to the residence. After knocking loudly and announcing their presence, a female finally came to the door. When asked if she had a child, she panicked and began searching the residence. The deputy advised her the child had been located and to follow him to the child’s location. The mother stated she worked all night until 12:15 that afternoon. She stated she had locked all of the doors, but apparently the child was tall enough and able to unlock the dead bolt. The report will be forwarded to Hocking County Children’s Services for follow-up._____

Deputies were dispatched to SR 93 South regarding a male and female walking and involved in a possible domestic situation. A male and female matching the description of the couple were located standing in the yard of a residence. They stated it was just a verbal argument and no physical violence occurred. Deputies did not observe any indications of physical violence occurring. The male individual, Branden Kinser, 30 of Logan had an outstanding warrant from the Logan Police Department. He was turned over to LPD.
