April 29, 2020
Deputies working at HVCH received a complaint of a robbery and felonious assault that had occurred around April 10th. The case was referred to the detective bureau for investigation.—–



April 22, 2020
Deputies responded to a SR 278 residence for a well-being check. While at the residence deputies received another complaint of domestic violence. After an investigation, deputies forwarded the case file to the Prosecutor’s Office review for potential charges.—–

May 1, 2020
Deputies received a report of a possible case of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. The case remains under investigation.—–

May 1, 2020
Deputies, while investigating another matter, came into contact with Eddie N. Sarver, 37, New Straitsville who had an active warrant from Athens County. Sarver was detained, but released when Athens County requested that he contact the court for an appearance date.—–

May 5, 2020
Deputies responded to GO-Mart Rockbridge for two people unconscious in a vehicle with a small child in the back seat. When deputies arrived they found a female in the driver’s seat and male in the passenger seat. After several minutes, deputies were able to awaken the two. The driver, Nancy L Horn, 53, Sugar Grove, was the mother of the 2 year old in the vehicle. Both admitted to deputies to having ingested illegal narcotics. HCEMS arrived on scene and assessed the three. The male passenger and child were transported to HVCH. Horn was medically cleared and transported to the SEORJ and charged with Child Endangerment. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers. The case remains under investigation.—–

May 8, 2020
Deputies were notified of a dog bite that had occurred May 6th. Deputies interviewed the dog owners and learned that the owners did not have valid dog license. The owners were given 7 days to purchase the licenses or be charged.—–

May 11, 2020
Deputies responded to an Adams Ave. residence for a theft complaint. The victim told deputies that overnight someone had entered their vehicle and stole several items. Deputies collected evidence to submit to the BCI crime lab for analysis. The case remains under investigation.

May 11, 2020
Deputies responded to an unknown call at a SR 664 rental cabin. After arriving and investigating the matter, deputies learned domestic violence had occurred. After investigating the matter and determining the primary aggressor, deputies arrested Alexander J. Veikley, 25, Grove City for Domestic Violence, Assault, Unlawful Restraint and Disrupting Public Service. Veilkey was transported to the SEORJ.—–

Deputies responded to an East Fork Rd. residence for a menacing complaint. The case remains under investigation.—–

May 12, 2020
Deputies responded to a domestic argument at a Carbon Hill-Buchtel Rd. residence. No violence occurred. Deputies ran the individuals present and found that Erin E. Kesterson, 42, Columbus had an active warrant from Fairfield County. Kesterson was released to FCSO custody.—–

May 12, 2020
Deputies responded to Hunter St. where Logan Police had arrested Shawn M. Schultz, 39, Nelsonville on an active warrant from our office. When searching Shultz, deputies found a glass vial with a white power substance and a container that deputies believed to be heroin. Shultz was transported to the SEORJ. The drugs will be sent to the BCI crime lab for analysis.—–

May 13, 2020
Deputies responded to a business parking lot on SR 328. After arriving deputies found one individual had an active warrant from Athens County for their arrest. Athens County refused to honor the warrant and the individual was told to contact the court. All the individuals were asked to leave the parking lot.
