Hocking County Sheriff Lanny E. North reports:

December 17, 2020
Deputies took a report for menacing that occurred on Front St. after a domestic situation had occurred at that residence. The complainant told deputies that threats were made after a relative went to the Front St. residence to attempt to gain custody of children. Logan Police referred the case to the Sheriff’s Office because the victim lives in the county.

December 17, 2020
Deputies responded to a Narrows Rd. residence. The complainant told deputies that they had discovered a bullet hole in a bathroom window. Deputies determined that the gunshot came from inside the residence and identified the person responsible. Charges for a person possessing a firearm being drug dependent were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office. The firearm was seized.

Deputies responded to a Bear Run Rd. residence after the resident called to report that the missing juvenile deputies had been looking for was at the residence. Deputies took the juvenile into custody and Juvenile Court personnel ordered the juvenile into detention at MCJDC.

Deputies responded to a burglary complaint at a Stump Run Rd. residence. The complainant told deputies that someone entered the residence and stole medication and other items. The case remains under investigation.

December 20, 2020
Deputies responded to an Ellis Rd. residence for a theft complaint. The complainant told deputies that someone had entered two parked vehicles and removed items. The case remains under investigation.

December 21, 2020
A Laurelville resident reported to deputies that they had received a debit card in the mail for unemployment benefits that they had not applied for. The victim had contacted credit reporting agencies.

December 19, 2020
Deputies responded to the Hocking Hills Flea Market for a theft complaint. Deputies located a vehicle leaving the flea market that matched the description provided by the owners. After conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 33 and conducting an investigation, deputies charged Misty D. McNichols, 43, Nelsonville with Theft. McNichols is scheduled to appear in Hocking County Municipal Court.
