HOCKING – Hocking County Board of Commissioners pass resolution declaring county a gun sanctuary County. This Totals Ohio Counties to eleven with recent adoption by Pike here: http://www.sciotopost.com/pike-county-becomes-2a-sanctuary-county/

and Vinton here: http://www.sciotopost.com/vinton-county-adopts-second-amendment-gun-sanctuary-county-resolution/

What is a 2A gun sanctuary county? It is a County that has adopted laws or resolutions to prohibit or impede the enforcement of certain gun control measures such as universal gun background checks, high capacity magazine bans, assault weapon bans, red flag laws, etc.

Federal laws supersede resolutions or local laws, so most 2a Gun resolutions are mostly put in place to show the views of the county or states within. This can be powerful to show law writers and people in elected positions what the view of the people exactly is.

Sheriff North played an intricate role in assisting Hocking County Commissioners Jeff Dickerson, Sandra Ogle and Gary Waugh in drafting the Resolution which was passed by a unanimous vote in the Commissioners meeting on February 4th, 2020.

As stated in an earlier release, Sheriff North has sworn an Oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the State of Ohio. This includes upholding all of their Amendments.

Sheriff North is pleased that all three Hocking County Commissioners share the same beliefs and support the Rights of the citizens of Hocking County.

The resolution from Hocking county reads as followed.
