CIRCLEVILLE – The United Way of Pickaway County (UWPC) has presented their safety partner program in the Haven House with its second quarter campaign donation in the amount of $6,456.00. The donation comes ahead of Haven House’s grand reopening at its new location, open to the general public, at 111 Island Road in Circleville on July 20th, 2018 from 4–6 p.m.
Second quarter campaign contributions will assist Haven House in their continued efforts to provide ‘safe haven’ and assistance to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Funds raised stem from the charitable efforts of local businesses and individual donors affiliated with the Pickaway County chapter of the United Way campaign.
Annually, Haven House shelters more than 25 women and 500 children displaced by violence in the home. Of those shelter visitors, the average number of nights for families taking up temporary residence is 115 nights. Through June of 2018, the shelter has served as a home to 60 families providing additional support to domestic violence victims in the form of case management services, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, resource referrals, support groups, and individual counseling.
