OHIO – Gov. Dewine says that he wants to limit alcohol sales to 10 pm to “thin out the crowds” at alcohol serving locations.
The way Dewine can do that is to call upon Ohio Liquor Control Commission to enacting an emergency rule related to liquor sales.
“Shutting down for a second time would be devastating to Ohio’s bars and restaurants. We are not going to do that today. But, I’m announcing that I’ve requested the Ohio Liquor Control Commission to call a meeting to consider enacting an emergency rule related to liquor sales,” said Dewine.
Sales would end at 10 pm and all alcohol drinking would end at 11 pm. Dewine says that the business can remain open but sales will stop to thin out the crowd aka sales.
The proposed rule doesn’t not include restaurants that serve, just bar like establishments.
The Liquor Control Commission will hold their emergency meeting tomorrow at 9 a.m. If the emergency statewide administrative rule is approved, I intend to sign an Executive Order that would make it effective Friday night.
