FLORIDA – When Florida gets cold a weird thing happens, Iguanas fall out of the trees and land on the earth below lifeless.

An actual warning came out last year during a similar cold spell.

Is this a joke? No it actually happens. Temperatures in Florida are hitting unusual low temperatures the next 24 hours to lows of the 40s. This will cause Iguanas that are cold-blooded to fall from trees. Yes, this really happens!

In January the National weather reported a possibility of falling Iguanas and is reminding people to not worry about the iguanas that they are “not dead” just slow-moving because of the weather. This is because Iguanas are an invasive species to Florida and they cannot handle the cold weather well.

So if you are in Florida maybe take an umbrella out when you go out tonight for fear of an Iguana falling on your head?
