Fire Engulfs Jim Bean Plant in Kentucky

WOODFORD KENTUCKY – Authorities are reporting a fire at the Jim Bean again Facility in Woodford County this morning.

According to police the fire may have started from a lighting strike in the area late last night to early morning.  Two barns that hold aging Jim Bean Bourbon initially caught fire spreading to several other structures.

The fire because it was fueled with alcohol and wood was so intense that called for multiple fire departments as back up.

Special Foam has been used to smother the fire according to LEX 18 news station and a local buinsess has been called in to build barriers to prevent leakage into nearby creeks.

No injuries have been reported
