Fairfield Sheriff Arrest One in Shooting Incident in Amanda on Wednesday Night

AMANDA – Police took a man into custody after a man hunt in Amanda around 5 pm on Wednesday night.  According to police a caller reported a suspicious vehicle and believed someone was shooting at a home in the area.

Fairfield Sheriff responded and when they tried to stop the car in question the subject who was not the driver of the car jumped out of the car and ran. He was chased into Amanda and captured around 30 minutes later hiding in a creek near Church Street in Amanda, and identified as Dionthony F. Scott who had a warrant and was arrested.  Search of the car found a handgun, and is under investigation if it was used in the shooting.

No one has been reported to be injured in the incident.
