Fairfield County – Fairfield county top incidents for the week of February 3, 2020

*Traffic stop- Columbus-Lancaster Rd/Diley Rd. Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for several marked lanes violations. The driver was arrested for falsification. The driver later identified, gave the deputy a false name and SNN in order to prevent him from being arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was transported to jail.
*SWAT conducted two (2) Search Warrant entries for Major Crimes in the City of Lancaster.
*Theft (Information Report), Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd, Caller stated while he was incarcerated unknown person(s) entered his residence and took all of his belongings and money.
*Burglary, Bremen Rd, Caller stated unknown person(s) entered his shop and removed tools.
*Larceny, Bickel Church Rd, Caller stated his SSN number was used to start an account with Columbia Gas, and the individual left an outstanding balance of over $1,100.00.
*Larceny, E. Waterloo St, Caller advised cash and credit cards were stolen.
*Larceny, Huntington Way, Vehicle break-in. Broken window and items missing.
*Larceny, Gender Rd, Dealership called and advised a vehicle was placed on blocks and the tires and rims were taken from the vehicle.
Feb. 4, 2020
*Auto Accident, 2826 Sugar Grove Rd., one vehicle auto accident. Vehicle lost control and rolled over and struck a utility pole and gas meter. Electric and gas company responded. Sugar Grove Rd. was temporarily closed until repairs could be made to pole and gas meter.
*Stolen Vehicle, Lancaster-Newark Rd., Caller states a trailer was taken from the property.
*Larceny, 6095 Gender Rd, Caller left purse in shopping cart at Kroger, Caller returned, and the purse was missing.
*Larceny, 2900 Columbus-Lancaster Rd, Subject attempted to take items from Meijer, when Meijer lost prevention approached, the suspect threw the items and ran out the door. Moments later additional call was received that the suspect was hit by a car on Columbus-Lancaster Rd. Our units handled the theft, and OSP assisted with handling the injury accident.
*Larceny, Bromfield Dr, Identity theft, Money removed from multiple accounts.
*Suspicious Person, Coonpath Rd, Caller advised that he was an off duty (another county) Deputy who had an unknown female on his property and the female had a dog with her and it killed the callers chickens, and was attempting to go towards the Deputies horses who are a part of the mounted unit. The Deputy had the female at gun point at the time of call. Units arrived and found the female had placed her K9 in the chicken’s kennel and the K9 had killed most of the chickens. Dog warden was called and responded and assisted with the call, Female was transported to the hospital on a mental eval, Charges will be forwarded. Additional call came in from a neighbor’s on Coonpath, that Caller advised his rabbits were killed in the yard and his rabbit kennel was damaged. Units responded after and determined it was the same female with the K9 who killed the rabbits.
*Hit-skip Accident, Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd, hit skip involving Amanda School’s school bus.
Feb. 6, 2020
*Vehicle Fire, Lutheran Church Rd. and Duffy Rd., Jeep Cherokee had a fire in the engine compartment. All occupants made it out safe and the vehicle was probably a total loss.
*Non-Injury Accident/OVI, Logan-Thornville Rd./Old Rushville Rd. Single vehicle crash into a ditch. Male was arrested for OVI.
*Warrant, Elm St., Deputy’s attempted to work a warrant on a female. The female ran upon unit’s arrival. A search of the area was conducted, and the subject was apprehended a short time later without incident.
Feb. 7, 2020
*Theft, Silverbrook Dr./Bentwood Farms, Caller advised he had observed an unknown suspect attempt to get in his vehicles at his property. Multiple units assisted as well as PPD and an off-duty Franklin County Sergeant. By the end of the event PPD was able to apprehend the alleged suspect.
*Theft, Hocking St., Canal Winchester, Caller alleges that a known subject came to her home and stole cash and a firearm.
*Information Report, Blacklick Eastern Rd. /Etna Rd., OSP was involved in a pursuit with a stolen vehicle. The vehicle wrecked in this area and the three occupants fled the scene. Multiple agencies were involved in this incident, that resulted in a Deputy apprehending all three of the vehicles occupants. They were located in a tree line. The three suspects were all juveniles and were charged by OSP and the Deputy assisted in transporting them to JDC.
*Level 1 snow emergency at approximately 0400 hours.
*Recovered Stolen Vehicle, Ivy Rd./Alder Dr., Caller is Licking County S.O. stating they are out with a stolen Bobcat front end loader. Bobcat was stolen out of Lancaster. Vehicle towed.
*Theft, Calverton Ter., Caller states his vehicle was gone through. Cash and Lottery tickets taken.
*Theft, Pine Rd., Caller states her Identity was stolen.
*Accident w/Injury. Victim struck a deer on US22. Female driver was transported to the hospital.
Feb. 8, 2020
*Hit/Skip, Diley Rd. /Dove Pkwy., Suspect vehicle struck the victim and fled the area. A witness followed the suspect vehicle to Busey Rd. The Deputy located the driver hiding in the woods. He was ultimately placed under arrest for OVI and obstruction.
*We were dispatched to a burglary in progress at Feldon Ct. We found the three juvenile callers outside of the home. They advised that they had left the home to get food and upon their return they saw someone in the doorway who immediately ran from the door when they saw them. They stated that their friend was still in the home. We cleared the home only locating the friend that was in the home. It appears as if they had mistaken the friend for a burglar because they thought she was still sleeping when in actuality she awoke to them not being there and was looking for them. When they began to walk up to the residence, they scared her and vice versa.
*DOC arrest stemmed from a fight between 5-10 individuals at The Alumni Pub in CW.
*Theft of a Firearm from vehicle at Indian Mound Rd. This is the recovered handgun from previous (Bentwood Farms) crime spree of break-ins and apprehension of a suspect.
Feb. 9, 2020
*ATL-Lancaster-Newark Rd/Baltimore- Somerset Rd. This was called in as an attempt to locate a vehicle that was driving all over the roadway, almost striking vehicles head on. Once units arrived in the area, the Deputy located the vehicle stopped in a driveway. It was determined that the driver was impaired and was placed under arrest.
*Criminal Damaging, 2900 Columbus-Lancaster Rd. Multiple vehicles parked in the lot near Texas Roadhouse and were damaged having windows busted out.
*At the beginning of shift PPD requested units assist them on a call. PPD advised that they were attempting to secure a search warrant for a residence that possible burglary suspects fled into. As deputies were arriving on scene, the juvenile suspects started to exit the house and were apprehended.
*Accident, New Salem Rd and Township Rd 81. Deputy came across a vehicle on its top. He checked the vehicle however no one was around. OSP handling report.
*Larceny, 6647 Winchester Blvd, theft from Walmart Canal arrest made.
*Stolen Vehicle, Lancaster-Thornville, This is in reference to the (accident earlier) on 1st shift, caller advised she was planning on the vehicle getting repo’ d due to an outstanding title loan, caller left the keys in the vehicle and when she returned home it was missing. Vehicle was found down the street by dayshift rolled on its top.
*Accident, Brook Rd, driver swerved to miss a deer and ran off into field, vehicle was stuck, and damage was done when vehicle was pulled out by tow truck.
