Esther M. Davis, 105, of South Bloomingville, passed away on December 26, 2017.  She was born in Columbus, on December 5, 1912, the daughter of Jerry “Buck” and Ida May (Elliott) Cordell.  She was married on July 19, 1939 to Jesse Davis of South Bloomingville. Esther loved gardening, taking care of flowers and mushroom hunting. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Davis; 2 sons, Roy and Lawrence Davis and daughter Jessie Geckler all of South Bloomingville; 2 son-in-laws, Larry Baker & Duane Amerine; daughter-in-law, Beverly Davis; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brothers, John, Bernard, Charles and Frank Cordell.

She is survived by 3 sons, Richard (Juanita), Frank (Patty) and Charles (Sandy) Davis; 3 daughters, Sue (Carl) Elick of Adelphi, Darlene (Lindell) Holtzmeier and Sharon Baker of S. Bloomingville; 2 daughter-in-laws, Debbie of South Bloomingville and Marilyn Davis of Circleville; 30 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Phyllis) Cordell of Circleville; sister-in-law, Nancy Cordell of Galena and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 30, 2017 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville.  Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery, Goose Creek Rd., South Bloomingville.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
