OHIO – Gov. Dewine backed back a statement that he made during a press conference on Monday about required masks in public.

Gov Dewine said on Monday that masks would be required to be worn in businesses and places of work, now today he reversed that statement and said it was, “strongly recommended.”

Dewine did back local businesses and companies that would require masks in establishments as a requirement to be served within the establishment.

“We aren’t mandating that customers wear masks in retail locations, but business owners can require it. The recommendation that masks be worn came from business owners to protect employees. They can make a decision that those coming in the door need to wear a protective covering,” Dewine said.
