Deer Creek Dam is Now Reducing Lake Water After Flood

Ohio- Deer Creek dam started reducing water in the dam lake now that the rains and flooding have stopped. This will keep the levels downstream high for the next week or so as they reduce these levels. Here’s a statement from Dam Creek Dam.

“We have received numerous calls in the last week regarding lake and downstream levels as well as boat ramp accessibility. Over the weekend we were able to open the outflow and are beginning to lower the lake level. In doing so, this causes the water to rise and become swifter downstream so we urge caution while fishing and enjoying the downstream recreation area. Deer Creek Lake, however, still remains high. The Harding Cabin boat ramp is open to use at the boater’s discretion, but boaters are not permitted to use the floating docks for any reason until the lake returns to summer pool. Please be aware that the high water levels have washed debris into the lake and boaters who do enter the lake will need to watch for large debris.
