Not So Fast Food – Couple Hides Drugs Unsuccessfully in Wrapper

LOGAN – On Thursday, September 6th, Hocking County Sheriff’s Interdiction Unit Detectives observed a vehicle driving on State Route 93 North, near the Logan City Limits.

When the occupants of the vehicle saw the detectives, they quickly turned into a gas station, immediately exited the vehicle, threw a fast food bag in the trash can and then left.

Noting the peculiar behavior, detectives looked in the trashcan and recovered the fast food bag from within. Upon opening the bag, detectives located a large amount of methamphetamine.

Detectives initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and detained the two occupants. A subsequent search of the vehicle lead to the recovery of heroin, prescription narcotics, and items commonly used in the sale of narcotics.

Glenn D. Nungester, 33 of Logan, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Drugs, a Felony of the 2nd Degree, Possession of Drugs, a Felony of the 2nd Degree and Tampering with Evidence, a Felony of the 3rd Degree.

Trisha A. Maffin, 31 of Logan, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Drugs, a Felony of the 2nd Degree, Possession of Drugs, a Felony of the 2nd Degree and Permitting Drug Abuse, a Felony of the 5th Degree.

Both individuals were transported to jail to await their arraignment in Hocking County Municipal Court.
