Circleville Post Lieutenant Herron promoted to Assistant District Commander

Columbus – Lieutenant Steven K. Herron was promoted to the rank of staff lieutenant today by Colonel Richard S. Fambro, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Training Academy. Staff Lieutenant Herron will transfer from his current assignment at the Circleville Post to serve as an assistant district commander at the Columbus District Headquarters.

Staff Lieutenant Herron began his Patrol career in April 1997 as a cadet dispatcher assigned to the Circleville Post. He began his training as a member of the 133rd Academy Class in February 1999. He earned his commission in July of that year and was assigned to the Lima Post. As a trooper, he also served at the Circleville Post and in the Office of Special Operations, Polygraph Unit. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Delaware Post to serve as an assistant post commander. In 2012, he earned the Colonel Thomas W. Rice Leadership Award. As a sergeant, he also served at the Lancaster Post. In 2014, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transferred to the Circleville Post to serve as post commander.
