CIRCLEVILLE – On October 2nd 2018 through October 4th 2018 Circleville Police Officers attended Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP) Instructor Certification Course provided by the Ohio Tactical Officers Association (OTOA).

Several officers of the Circleville Police Department, along with various other agencies, attended a three day physically challenging course at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.  This course was for members of these departments to become certified ASP instructors, and was provided by OTOA at no cost to the attending agencies.

The class focused on de-escalation techniques, use of less lethal force options, and the use of ASP products.  Successful completion of the class certified that the officers have met the competency-based standards of knowledge, have mastered performance skills, and have the ability to instruct the basic certification class for ASP. The Circleville Police Department would like to thank ASP, OTOA, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol for allowing our agency to attend the class.
