CIRCLEVILLE – Circleville Fire Department saved a small kitten from a questionable fate today June 7, 2019.

It took two days to get the fuzzy kitten from the storm pipe. Yesterday Circleville was called out to aid when they took the report of a kitten stuck in a storm drain calling for help. The easy part was getting the grate off but the hard part was that the kitten didn’t trust the firefighters and would run back into the 6 inch drain pipe when there firefighters couldn’t reach. Firefighters after about a hour of trying had to give up to answer a car accident that happened on 56, but advised the neighbors that if they could trap him outside the pipe they could come and try and get him again.

Today with aide from humane society and Circleville Fire they were able to persuade the fuzzy feline out of the pipe and into the cage where he will be transported to the local shelter for shots, dewormed, and any other medical he needs before he will be put up for adoption.

“Its prime kitten season said one of the neighbors, its a good time to talk about spaying and neutering your animals. This one I believe is a stray and was covered in fleas.”

City worker was not on the clock when he helped save the kitten, he lives in the area.
