JUNCTION CITY – A fire that destroyed the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Junction City has been deemed intentional.

Brian Bohnert, public information officer for the State Fire Marshal’s Office reported that they have determined that the fire was set intentionally but it is still under investigation.

Bohnert said that its difficult to determine where the fire started because of the total loss of structure but they are still reconstructing the incident, but they do have a person of interest.

The church was one of the oldest buildings in the town, built in 1875 has offered regular services since.

GoFundMe page has been set up to help the church rebuild.
