CHILLICOTHE, OH – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) visited Adena Health System and met with its leadership to discuss the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding that the hospital has received. The System has received nearly $30 million from the Provider Relief Fund in the CARES Act, which Senator Portman supported and was signed into law by President Trump.

“I had a great visit with Adena Health System leaders this afternoon. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted our hospitals, and in particular our rural hospitals, in Ohio as they’ve made sacrifices in suspending elective care to support our frontline providers, which is why I supported the CARES Act,” said Portman. “Our rural hospitals have always fought hard to stay above water and are now fighting for their survival due to this ongoing COVID-19 crisis. I urge the Administration to continue to work expeditiously to get the remaining CARES Act funding out to hospitals and health care providers so that we can support them as they continue to care for those impacted by the health care crisis.
