Chillicothe Kenworth Shuts Down for Evaluation May Be Extended Closure

CHILLICOTHE – Chillicothe Kenworth facility has notified its employees of a immediate shutdown occurring at 11:55 pm tonight, normally shifts end at 1 am.


Kenworth says they are evaluating over the next two days to see if they can operate under Dewines mandates for safe work conditions within the plant.

Paccar a parts supplier for Kenworth said in a press release, “Due to the growing number of lockdown orders from US states and canada PACCAR will suspect production at all North American plants effective March 24th. Paccar will resume production on Monday April 6th.

We recognize that “shelter in place” order may continue past April 6th, PACCAR will provide letters of support on behalf of your company to assist you in requesting exemptions to those shelter in place orders”

Kenworth has told employees that if the shutdown continues past March 25 employees will be contacted.
