UPDATE: Serious Single Vehicle Ross County Road 550

Ross – Around 12:20 am on 2/02/20 a 911 call came into Ross County of a report of a single vehicle car wreck that occurred on county road 550 and Lowell ave in Frankfort.

According to police the red Dodge Stratus was heading Eastbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle in the roadway fishtailing out of control. The vehicle then drove of the left side of the road at a high rate of speed hitting a tree, then flipping into its top, the car then caught on fire. The two occupants were able to climb out of the car while it was on fire and avoided major burns.

Local witness on the scene said that the flames were about three feet high off the engine compartment of the flipped vehicle and they helped the two people get out of the car. A member of Concord Fire lived within a short distance from the wreck and was able to put out the fire quickly with a fire extinguisher.

Two people who were in the vehicle were transported to area hospitals by Emergency EMS with injuries.

Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash and did not comment on if it was impairment related.
