BREAKING NEWS: Woman Arrested For Pickaway County, Orient Murder at US/Mexico Border in California

PICKAWAY – A Pickaway County Murder may have been solved after the arrest of two individuals.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Robert B. Radcliff, on Sunday June 23, 2019 at 4:38PM, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s 911 Dispatch received a call from Glen Kaelbli of Grove City, Ohio, who reported he found his mother deceased. His mother, Joyce Kaelbli, age 82, was at her home at 10500 Ballah Road, Orient, Ohio. Mr. Kaelbli reported he found his mother dead and the house ransacked. A homicide investigation was initiated by the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Radcliff said on July 19, 2019, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office filed for warrants on two suspects identified through the investigation. The two suspects are identified as:

Susan E. Stahl W/F DOB/07-23-1984, charged with Aggravated Burglary and Murder
and

Anthony R. Martin W/M DOB/09-27-1988, charged with Obstructing Justice.

Sheriff Radcliff reported that Stahl was connected to the family as a ex-girlfriend to the son of the family.

Through the investigation the sheriff’s office identified the pair had traveled to San Diego, California and, more specifically, the area of the Campo – Route #8, at the US/Mexico border crossing. Coordinating with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Radcliff said the pair were located and taken into custody on the Ohio charges.

On July 20, 2019, Sheriff Radcliff, Detective Emrick, and Detective Andrews went to San Diego, California to continue the investigation and collect evidence. They were later joined by Deputy Brooke Cano. Subsequently, Susan Stahl and Anthony Martin appeared in Superior Court, Central Division, San Diego County, California, for extradition hearings.

On July 24, 2019, Sheriff Robert Radcliff, Detectives Emrick and Andrews, and Deputy Cano returned to Pickaway County, Ohio, with Stahl and Martin in custody. Sheriff Radcliff said the assistance and cooperation of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office was outstanding. Sheriff Radcliff said both Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and San Diego County Sheriff’s Office were partnered with US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.
