Ross County- The Scioto Post has obtained information that a Chillicothe Corrections Staff member has been arrested and charged with bringing drugs into the detention center.

During a staff “shakedown” at the facility, where members of the staff are thoroughly checked for drugs and contraband, the drugs were discovered in the pocket of a staff member.

Investigation Officer Brandon Collier was conducting the search and found that a staff member, Bradley Danner was in possession of schedule 3 and schedule 5 prescription pills. Danner was arrested by Ohio State Patrol officers, who were called in to investigate the discovery of the drugs.

The charge of conveyance of drugs into a facility is a Felony 5 offense.

A very short time following the search and seizure of the drugs, Officer Brandon Collier collapsed after suffering a fatal heart condition.
He was treated at the scene as if it were caused by a drug and narcan was administered.
Brandon Collier was 38 years old.

An official whom spoke with the Scioto Post didn’t want to speculate but did say that the coroner believes the death could be due to natural cause and not the contact with the drugs. There will be an official autopsy completed.

As Scioto Post is the first to report this story, we will also be diligently updating our readers as information is made available to us.
