CIRCLEVILLE – It’s Over, the streak has concluded! Week 6 proved to be a great night of football. There were several close games that came down to the wire and an unfriendly streak was retired. This wasn’t a sexy game with MSL titles on the line. This was simply a rival game with teams separated by less than 7 miles. The Backyard Brawl between the Tigers and Braves that began last year in now evened up 1-1. Yes, the young Tigers snapped a losing streak last night at Savings Bank Stadium in Circleville. There’s been some streaks over the years that have directly affected a lot of us. John Cooper went 0-5-1 against TTUN 1988-1993, the Cleveland Browns went 0-16 in 2017 and our Blue Jackets went their first 15 seasons without making a playoff until 2016-17. The Circleville Tigers had their own streak of losing 15 straight games that finally ended last night. I love amateur sports, the passion and dedication that these high school athletes have is unmatched. It was fun to watch two local teams that truly love the game of football, their teammates and their schools. Circleville knocked off the Braves 20-14 in the second annual backyard Brawl. Isac Payne stole the show with 211 yards on the ground on 32 carries and a touchdown. Circleville jumped out early and took a 14-0 lead into halftime. There was no quit for the Braves. They fought back and scored late in the 4th quarter, however they couldn’t recover the onside kick and the game ended and so did the Tigers losing streak. LE had a balanced attack with Robinson throwing for 108 yards and Hoffman rushing the ball 14 times for 71 yards. Tigers host the MSL favorite Aces and the Braves head to the winless Falcons of Fairfield Union
