The Circleville Police Department investigated a threat of violence against the Circleville City Schools
made known at 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. A 14-year-old juvenile has been arrested and is currently
being held at the Juvenile Detention Facility pending their initial appearance in Pickaway County Juvenile
Court. The juvenile is charged with Inducing Panic, a second-degree felony.

The Circleville Police Department takes all threats to public safety very seriously. Even with the arrest
you will see an increased officer presence at the schools tomorrow dedicated to keeping our children
safe and we are working closely with other agencies in this effort. We encourage anyone who comes
across any type of threat to immediately contact the Circleville Police Department. The community is
cautioned to refrain from sharing any uninvestigated rumor on their social media networks or by word
of mouth to mitigate the spread of falsities.

As per School officials, a heavy police presence is expected at school on Friday, March 9th.
