25 People in Southern Correction Facility Test Positive for COVID-19

SCIOTO COUNTY – The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) reported Sunday that the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF) has 23 employees that have tested positive for the COVID19 virus.


Larry Mullins Scioto County Emergency Management said that two inmates have also tested positive, but both have since recovered.

“SOCF reportedly had 20 inmates in quarantine on Sunday, with two additional inmates awaiting test results. Scioto EMA continues to monitor the situation at the facility,” said Mullins.



Out of the 23 employees that have tested positive for the COVID19 virus, of which 16 have since recovered.
